Niagara County is under obligation to commit 1/3 of the budget for its Community College. What obligation that is (we think it's state rule) we don't have yet, but we'll get it. The County can and sometimes does account for more expenses at the college as it sees fit. We'll need to get more information on this budget item before everything is clear. But for now, for 2007, the county total is $8,613,000.

There was also a budget line item that wasn't listed in the "summary" called "Community College Tuition", so we've listed it here as well. It would look as if the county has an expense for tuition to the college of $800,000. But we have no idea what that is yet, so we're not jumping to conclusions.

The College has its own website where you can learn more about how it operates in general.
