FAIR Government held its first-ever fundraiser on Wednesday, November 1, 2006 at JT Wheatfields in the Town of Wheatfield.

By all accounts it was a smashing success. You can view the fundraiser invitation and the "thank you" handout from that night. If you weren't able to attend, and would like to contribute, visit our "Join" page and contribute online. Every dollar raised at this point goes towards the hiring of the first-ever FAIR Government full-time employee.

Many thanks to all that attended. Here are a few photo's of the night

Tom Christy, Founder of FAIR Government, with Joe, the owner of JT Wheatfields. Joe, Heather and the rest of JT's staff really took care of us that night. They have their own website you can visit if you need more information.
New York State Assemblyman Robin Schimminger was on hand and presented a check to Tom Christy on behalf of FAIR Government. It was especially nice of Assemblyman Schimminger to attend because FAIR is located in his Assembly District and Mr. Christy is a consituent of Schimmingers.
Dr. Barry Weinstein, Erie County Legisalator and its Minority Leader, attended. Dr. Weinstein has been a supporter of the FAIR Government project. It said a lot about his support in that Erie County, on this date, was negotiating a budget and facing the prospect of a "hard" control board, and Dr. Weinstein was still able to stop by to show his support.
City of North Tonawanda Mayor Larry Soos (on right) was the first to arrive and show his support of FAIR Government. He's shown here with Chuck Bell, of Lumber City Development Corp., and a Class of '06 Leadership Niagara member.
Bill Ross (left) and Scott Schultz were in attendance on November 1. Ross is Chair of the Niagara County Legislature and Schultz is President of the School Board for North Tonawanda.
Part of the 50+ people that turned out for the FAIR Government first-ever fundriasing event on Wednesday, November 1, 2006.
Paul Flach of the Chamber of Commerce of the Tonawanda's (left), Dave Burke of National Fuel (center) and Bob Confer of Confer Plastics stopped by to show their support. Confer has become the head of Fundraising for FAIR Government and heads up the newly formed Development Committee.
John Raymond, newsman at WLVL radio in Lockport, attended and took quotes from FAIR Government founder Tom Christy for use during morning drive-time radio on WLVL.
Town of Wheatfield Supervisor Tim Demler, who has not only supported FAIR Government but taken it up as a challenge to make transparent government the norm at the local level, spoke to the crowd on November 1 and was recorded by newsman John Raymond of WLVL in Lockport.
Here's the postcard that was mailed to potential supporters of FAIR Government. If you didn't get a chance to attend the kick-off fundraiser, and would like to help, you can mail contributions to:
