The fiscal publication project on FAIR Government will be the single largest time committment we will make. Budgets will be acquired, input and then greater depth will be requested from municipalities. We'll be inputting budgets from scratch. That way we'll be able to make links when further budget documentation becomes available.

As a test case, we've selected the City of Niagara Falls, N.Y. We've chosen the budget year of 2003 which should be completed, with no open budget lines.

Niagara Falls
The City of Niagara Falls is a city who's finances are watched more closely then other municipalities. People want to know why things are they way they are in downtown Niagara Falls. So the FAIR project goes to Niagara Falls, starting with the 2003 budget.
Erie County New York
While we enhance the Niagara Falls budget we're going to input the raw budget for Erie County, N.Y.

Third Party Budget Suggestions
`
The PFM Group
The Erie County Fiscal Stability Authority hired The PFM Group to provide financial suggestions to the County Executive and Legislature. Their completed report was delivered to the Legislature in mid-October 2005. You can view the entire report here.
Buffalo Niagara Partnership There can never be enough suggestions for correcting Erie County's budget situation. Buffalo's "chamber of commerce", by name the Buffalo Niagara Patrnership, submitted its own plan to the public in mid-2005. It was called"an objective, top-to-bottom management review of nearly every part of Erie County government". You can read the contents at their site.
