| 1. Retain and encourage the expansion of existing businesses. | 2. Develop projects that promote economic development, recreation, residential and community developoment components | 3. Prepare shovel-ready industrial sites to help in locating businesses within Erie County. | 4. Participate in the preparation and/or funding of planning studies that promote economic developoment projects. |
b. Continue the business retntion and expansion program for companies throughout Erie County.
c. Maintain real property tax reduction of 31.2% realized over the past four years, to stimulate the economy and create jobs.
d. Work with the City of Buffalo, New York State and business owners to develop the Erie Canal Harbor Project.
e. Continue planning and implementation efforts with the City of Buffalo and NFTA to bring cars back to Main Street.
f. Promote international trade and work with agencies providing export services in an effort to consolidate their delivery of services.
g. Work with the Buffalo Niagara Enterprise, ECIDA and other agencies to prepare job creation or retention packages for candidate companies.
h. Promote efforts of the Buffalo Niagara Enterprise to market the region and attract businesses.
i. Expand linkages with the private sector to promote and facilitate the hiring of welfare clients by businesses in Erie County.
j. Continue t owork with the Workforce Development Consortium and other training agencies and institutions for maximum collaboration and efficiencies in job training activities.
k. Continue the reclamation of Brownfieldsd and their developoment as industrial sites for the goal of developing 500 acres of shovel-ready industrial land in 5 years.
l. Work with the Buffalo Niagara Enterprise, ECIDA, municipalities and developers to create new industrial parks and sites througout the County.
m. Continue implementation of the Village Center Revitalization Program beginning with Springville, Gowanda, Angola, Holland and then outward to other needy villages.
n. Maintain the Department Web Site that directs our constituency to key programs within the department.
